Not often we get to see plate corals that come in striking colors. But when we do, it makes us do a double take. Such as this beautiful Fungia granulosa pictured by juuniz on Reef Central:
These corals do not require a lot of light, but some are light tolerant. As well, they do need some flow to move the zooplankton into the polyp’s mouth. These are best suited for sandbottom areas of your tank. If you desire, you can feed them meaty treats such as small bits of scallops, raw fish, and brine/mysis shrimp. But be careful not to overfeed, as some reports suggest that their digestive system can be overburdoned with that type of food.
Happy reefing!!
