Versace, the renowned fashion house, is to create the world’s first refrigerated beach so that hotel guests can walk comfortably across the sand on scorching days.
The beach will be next to the the new Palazzo Versace hotel which is being built in Dubai where summer temperatures average 40C and can reach 50C.
The beach will have a network of pipes beneath the sand containing a coolant that will absorb heat from the surface.
The swimming pool will be refrigerated and there are also proposals to install giant blowers to waft a gentle breeze over the beach.
Seriously?

Honestly, that’s a PERFECT idea and an awesome way to use energy … but wait, they get solar power, so if it’s not used, it will be wasted anyways… never mind.
I wish they will put a heated beach in Canada, and provide the Versace models in bikini & shorts walking around in the middle of our -7 C (yes today) winter.
Of course this is not a sexist comments, I believe they provide have a male line too
This bothers/saddens me on so many levels I can’t really verbalize it.
I like Hubert’s idea of heated beaches much more than I like the cooled beach. I mean who goes to the beach to cool off outside the water?
Waste of time, energy and money IMO. Good on ya for calling attention to it!
