Since the demand is really high on this topic, I am ‘forced’ to make a new post under some outside pressure.
Kidding aside, here is what had transpired since the last post. I showed you all what I was going to accomplish, and now for things that I have done.
First, see the before pictures:
Scary, eh? Who wants to have a Reefroom in that state?
So, I did some work… I studded, insulated, tiled, and drywalled.
I went with a blue tile to simulate water on the floor. Now I am walking on simulated water. Symbolic isn’t it
Next came paint. I chose a more soothing color for the laundry and a warm one for the Reefroom.
I wasn’t done with the floor, as I didn’t add the trim pieces and the grout. So here are some quick pics of the work.
In the next post, I will go through my dehumidistat setup. The ‘how to’ when installing these amazing gadgets.

nice progress so far but you know it can’t be a fishroom without tanks right?
Actually, i am much further than the pictures posted. The acrylic is on order, and is being cut. Tanks are going to be there soon, much sooner than you all expect
I heard your decision to go with blue tile and gold walls was to pay homage to MarineDepot.com. We think that’s a great idea, btw.
In all seriousness, we’re looking forward to more updates. We love these kinds of posts.
You know that I dream in blue and gold… (and by that I mean St. Louis Rams colors
)
Stay tuned for more, as I am going to post on the dehumidistats.
I can’t speak on behalf of the company, but the Rams are my favorite team. Los Angeles misses you! OK, probably just me, but still …
