The Toronto Zoo is still planning on opening their stingray exhibit this week despite the death of 35 stingrays on Sunday. An excellent theory as to what happened is being formed:
Sabotage has not been ruled out in Calgary. Laidlaw wonders about that, too. There was a public backlash against stingrays in the months after the death of television host and wildlife expert Steve Irwin of The Crocodile Hunter.
Seriously? A backlash against stingrays?
While I usually like CBC, it seems like they’re pushing the sensationalist button a bit too hard with this headline: Calgary Zoo stingrays may have been poisoned.

The things they do to get spice in a story. Yeah they were poisoned, but not intentionally.
